Does Google Count Nofollow Links As Backlinks?

When google systems run across links tagged like this  Links with rel= "nofollow" Google takes note of these links. But Google doesn't forward any of these so-called signals to the linked pages.  In general, Google doesn't pass any page rank from the link source to the link target.  however, it's still a link on the web and users may be using those to reach your website. Similarly, if you were to use a disavow links tool, those links would be no longer be passing any signals but would continue to appear in the links report in the search console. The answer is "No", Google doesn't count Nofollow links as backlink. In short, links with rel="nofollow" don't pass any signals or page rank to your website.
