What If I Don't Write Content For 1 Year?

Most people must have thought that what if I don't write content for 1 year? Will it affect my blog, existing pages?

In general, providing good content regularly can make your readers happy. They will be visiting your site because of fresh and new content. In this tactic, you can grasp your reader base and increase your blog traffic. Readers will remember you easily.

However, if you don't write content for 1 year or more than 1 year, neither it will affect your blog or the existing pages unless your pages are unique, evergreen(it's still relevant to date), and original. Otherwise, your articles may lose ranking. And because of the 1-year gap, people will forget your blog.

For instance,

You wrote some unique and original articles and they ranked under the top 3. After that, you thought I'll not write content for 1 year. In addition, Your content is evergreen either which means it doesn't need any extra information in changing the time. So, in this case, your existing pages' ranking will not be affected. Moreover, it will not affect your blog. There are many examples such as corporate sites, history blogs, companies' site that typically holds about us, contact us, privacy policy, and so on. In these categories, it doesn't need extra information as the time runs. It becomes relevant for all time. In fact, maximum corporate sites contain few pages. And they don't need to publish and update their pages frequently.

However, giving information regularly has lots of benefits. But if you go into a news website, a technology website, you will see they are providing information daily. Because to get the engagement they are supposed to publish and update new content regularly.

Make sure, if you don't have any additional information to add on, don't try to update your articles. Because many people think that updating articles regularly is a good practice. That's why they update their article without adding additional information. It's not a good mindset. Make sure different sites have different requirements. All sites are not alike.
